Cell-Cell Interactions

Co-culture layered & structured tissues without artificial membranes
with perfect imaging, to study barrier-free cellular interactions,
cell-cell signaling, and migration.

Why cell-cell interactions?

OrganoPlate® allows you to develop a large variety of tissue- and disease models, applicable for drug testing and evaluation. Study relevant 3D tissue biology in a simple manner by incorporating perfused tubules, co-culture, and full control over the tissue microenvironment.

We have optimized the OrganoPlate® platform to study cell-cell interaction in multiple tissue culture setups. OrganoPlate® enables you to:

  • Combine a tubular culture with cells cultured in an extracellular matrix (ECM)
  • Grow two tubules in parallel
  • Culture two or more cell types in adjacent ECM gels
  • Develop a tube-in-a-tube culture

All Applications

Features

  • Co-culture different cell types without artificial membranes
  • Enable stratified co-cultures with relevant tissue structures
  • Study cellular interactions, cell-cell signaling, migration

Assays

  • Immunostaining for specific markers of present cell types
  • Basal lamina formation
  • Assess the influence of:
    • supporting cells in strengthening barrier tissues
    • (activated) immune cells in co-culture, for example of CNS, gut, tumor cells
    • supporting cells (for example pericytes, hepatocytes) on sprouting/angiogenesis
